Contribution Reporting
Federal law requires political committees to collect the name and mailing address of every contributor. For individuals whose total contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year, committees must also disclose the contributor’s occupation and employer in public reports, along with their name and address.
Source of Funds
Contributions must be made from the contributor’s own personal funds (personal card or account) and may not be reimbursed by any other person or entity.
Eligibility
- Contributions may only be made by U.S. citizens or lawfully admitted permanent residents (green card holders).
- Contributions from corporations, labor organizations, federal government contractors, or foreign nationals are prohibited.
- Contributions in the name of another person are prohibited.
- The maximum annual contribution is $5,000 per individual.
